Shuga

December 1st is worlds Aids day and I have noticed a pattern where people only discuss Aids and other STI's on that day. This is me trying to break the pattern. A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine sent me a link to a short series via twitter. This is a short story about the nightlife in Kenya it involves about 6 young people like you and me who make some decisions that affect their lives significantly. What I did not know was I was about to watch something that would alter my thought process's forever when it comes to unprotected sex. I have never and will never be a fan of having unprotected sex. No matter how much you "trust" your partner except of course you are married. I do however understand that mistakes (even if I really think they should not) do happen. but when you watch short series like the one below, it reminds you that a little 'mistake" or 10secs of pleasure could lead to the question of life and death. A guy friend of mine once told me that in all his years of having sex(and yes he ahs some years on him..lol not once has a woman stopped him from having unprotected sex with her. It seems that as women we have become so comfortable with men being the decision makers when it comes to this aspect of our sex lives, that we fail to take the initiative to say "STOP, WEAR A CONDOM" I know abstinence is the best form of protection, but in the century we live in, I would rather preach protection than be ignorant. In essence What I am trying to say is LADIES PROTECT YOURSELVES. It is not up to the men alone to introduce forms of protection into you relationships/partnerships/whatevers. Pardon my rambling, Just watch the video(s) learn a thing or two and leave a comment!

Have a fab weekend!

I agree, women need to be strong and stop it before it turns into something else.

I saw these clips sometime ago and they did pass the message very well. Women need to snap out of it seriously. Protect yourself. If you can't ask the guy to wear a condom, use female condoms yourself.

this is beyond incredible, it is absolutely mind blowing. The message is clear and convincing, it is the type of message that sticks to one's mind. I don't know about you, but I am enthralled with the ingenuity of the creators/ actors and I cannot wait to watch more.

As soon as i watched it, i posted the link on my blog some weeks back.
I didnt even talk about it, because there is only so much i can say, but the series was so apt, no need to add more.

It is indeed sad to know how careless and carefree us females are about our sexual health. I wish more females would realise that given our anatomical design, we are basically built for reception and that ironically that reception includes STIs.
A female is more likely to contract an STI from her male partner than a male from his female partner.

This isn't about being pious or trying to rebuke anybody, please for the sake of your future and people who love you stay safe.

Chooking is all fine and dandy, but please wear a rubber. And nobody should talk about latex allergies oh! There are latex free condoms available.#okthanksbye
