-What am I doing for Independence day? Well I am part of a campaign started by my friend Jeti It is called #GiveMe50. As we all know, Nigeria is turning 50 next week and I really am not in the mood for a celebration. This is because I do not feel I have anything to celebrate. Instead I am asking Nigeria to do ONE thing for me and maybe next yr I would have a cause to celebrate. I am asking for an end(or maybe less, or a start towards) to sexual abuse in homes. The house girls sleeping with the little boys-the uncles sleeping with the little girls-the oga's sleeping with the house girls-rape-date rapes,etc. I feel we as Nigerians never discuss it because it is such an offensive topic, BUT I am willing to be a spokes person on this issue and maybe in the future I would tell you guys why I am so passionate about this aspect of Nigeria's development. -ONFRIENDS: Today one year ago, I met one fo my closest friends right now. We had 'met' other times in the past but never said anything to each other. I remember him asking me for my pin at this event and weirdly enough I had lost my phone earlier that day. (HE STILL BELIEVES I JUST DIDN'T WANT TO GIVE IT TO HIM....HAHAHAHA) I Love this man(platonic ally) with all my heart, he makes me want to be a better person, teaches me about life, tells me when a guy is bullshitting me and who is for real, compliments me, helps me, is there for me DAILY, supplies me with indomie, amongst others. He has seen me cry more times in a yr than most of my other friends. I totally forgot it was our one yr 'anniversary' today. He called me at midnight and reminded me, while saying some of the most amazing things ever. I had tears in my eyes. I LOVE THIS MAN! Here is a toast to a true friend! Happy Anni T.D!(In your mind now, you will feel special...)

-Isn't it funny how people on twitter HYPE a song or artist so much that you believe they are the next best thing since slice bread. Then you 'logoff' go into the real world and talk about 'X' person and people are like 'huh? who is that?' and then you try to explain and they are like 'nope never heard of him/her'..BUAHAHAHAHA! Please Artists, producers, designers, etc promote yourself OUTSIDE twitter. There is a HUGE population that are not on there. They matter.
-I read a blog post(More like tirade) the other day calling out naija artist for "feeling themselves" because they don't reply to tweets and when they meet their fans in public they are rude...O_o...err OK buddy...I really don't want to go into that right now. Lets just say, I want to know the last time Keri Hilson, Rihanna, Kim or even Lil duval replied a regular fan.. double standards much?

OK so I am light skinned(for those of you who do not know). I have been this way since I was born..duh!..and up until I moved to Canada like 6yrs ago. I did not know that being light skinned was a "big deal" or seen as an "easier" way to achieve success. This rant is because I am sick and tired of all the light skinned hate/bashing. I was born light skinned. God made me that way. I did not go to him and beg and say "OHH LORDDDDDDDDDDD PLS MAKE ME LIGHT SKINNED So that I would be able to go through life "easier". I did not gravel and complain and tell God that if he did not make me light skinned I would not go to earth(LOL..that imagery just made me laugh). NO. God on his own made me light skinned. So I am SICK AND TIRED of all the crap I hear when it comes to light skinned people. It is so irritating to see people act like the reason I get some things in life is because I am light skinned. GTFOH!!!!!!!! do you know how hard I work because I am a pretty light skinned woman? Do you know what it takes for someone to take me seriously? that I am not another pretty face with an air head? No you don't. Now there are some people that believe light skinned is better and they will be very sufficeint but I do not think I am better than anyone. People now think saying they prefer dark skinned chic's makes them a better person.. #NEGROPLEASE. its all about preference. People complain when a celeb uses light skinned girls in his videos??? Like what aren't we human beings??? What if no dark skinned girls came for the audition? Did some of you think about that through your heads? I am just tired of light skinned people always being beat down, like we BEGGED to be light skinned, and as if we don't have to work for anything. Some idiot even told me the other day that most light skinned girls are not even pretty. That just because we are light skinned we get this 'pass' ...*ROLLING MY FECKING EYES*

Today is my mothers birthday and I woke up really early and prayed to God on her behalf. I thanked God so much for her life. for her health, for her personality, for her strength, and at some point I started crying because I just realized all this woman has done for me. Now I would not begin to list them all her because I would be writing for months but all I can say is I am grateful.
The carrying a child for 9 months bit is already hard enough but the real work begins when the child is born. I would not be the way I am today if not for my mother. I am a strong, independent, smart, Christian, beautiful woman because of my mother. The discipline she instilled in me growing up has made me the woman I am today. I am so VERY Thankful for her. My mum is my rock. The great woman of God I desire to be when I grow up. She balances a career in nursing, being an entrepreneur and being a full time mother to four children.
She taught me to cook, clean, dress up, put on makeup, do my hair, study, pray, read my bible, do my nails, in general the fundamentals of being a good woman. I don't know where or what I would be without her. Today my only gift to her is prayer and love. The flowers die, the kitchen utensils stop working. but my love would always be there and my prayers would take her father than ever. I love my mum! She is my twin! I cannot wait for the day I start taking care of her as she has done for the past 20+ years for me.
Funny story: In my first yr of university, my parents helped me move to a city 5hrs away. we drove down and I checked into residence. While I went to familiarize myself with the campus, my parents went shopping and bought me a laptop, printer, duvet and other necessities. The store (future shop) was out of the printer my parents picked, So I was supposed to go back two weeks later to get the printer. I walked into the store two weeks later and this happens.....
Clerk:wohhhh woahhhh woahhhhhhh.
Me: huh??? (surprised look on face)
Clerk: you are here to pick up a printer eh?
Me: Yes. How did you know?
Clerk: Damn OMG. OMG! you look EXACTLY like your mother.
Me.(confused face)
Clerk: WOW I have never seen two people look alike like this. Like you walked in here and I knew you where her daughter.

Is it weird that my only goal in life is to be happy. OK so I am weird I have a timeline I work with in regards to my life and every yr I have accomplishments, goals etc to accomplish on it. The only constant in this timeline is happiness and it stretches from when I started this timeline to age 45 where it currently ends. I just want to be happy. All the time. I would never sacrifice my peace of mind for someone or something. E no too poss--not possible. That said I AM HAPPY!
Can you overdose on mangoes? Coz I bought a box of mangoes on Thursday last week.(COS IT WAS $1.89 FOR THE ENTIRE BOX!!!)Went away for the weekend and they where all ripe when I got back on Monday. I ate 4 in about 2hrs last night..THEY ARE SOO GOOD AND TASTY!
